Post Rest in Peace | Stefan Elsäßer (TZ2)

Dear all,

our friend and fellow modeler Stefan Elsäßer (aka TZ2) suffered a heart attack while driving
home from work and passed away. He was only 51 and leaves his wife and two young children.

We will miss him. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

For those of you who speak German, please find below the original message I received from Roman:

Mit großem Bedauern muß ich Euch heute mitteilen das unser aller
Freund und Bastelkollege Stefan Elsäßer von uns gegangen ist.

Er erlag einem Herzinfarkt während der Fahrt im Auto.
Er wurde nur 51 Jahre alt und hinterlässt Frau und Kinder.

Die Beerdigung soll wohl am Dienstag statt finden.

In stiller Trauer
Roman

PS: For the younger AF members who might not know Stefan - he was the founder of Automobilminiaturen many years back. He loved to build Italian and European cars from the 60s to the 80s.

Very sad news. I knew him when he was still with automobile miniaturen.

Re: Rest in Peace | Stefan Elsäßer (TZ2)

Hello

It is really hard for me to write these lines. I still can't believe it.

Stefan has been a good friend for almost twenty years. He was a reliable business partner for more than five years. Very knowledgeable about plastic and resin modeling in 1:24 scale.

In 1995 both of us started our own businesses. Stefan was the first one to sell my (ScaleProduction) products in Germany, Europe and worldwide. After returning to a "normal" job in 2000, I took over the responsibility of running AutomobilMiniaturen.

During the first time, he supported me with all the knowledge he had gathered over the years. Daily email contact and weekly phonecalls became a rock-solid foundation of our friendship. I will always remember Stefan as a good friend and mentor.

Mike
