Installing new trans. filter

92 Pontiac Bonneville SSE w/ 4T60-E Transmission

Getting ready to install new Trans filter. This filter simply pushes in with no fasteners. Do I make sure this filter is all the way in (..as far as it will go?), or do I need to back it down any from the point of where it makes contact? Thanks. My first time changing this filter. Alex.

Re: Installing new trans. filter

Welcome to AF. Replace the seal in the valve body also, anyway push it in all the way the trans pan will seat it when installed.
