2004 CV half shaft replacement
Anyone know of a good write up for replacing the half shafts in the 2004 LeSabre?
Getting a vibration over 55mph. Same thing happened in a 1992 LeSabre I owned. The dealer replaced the driver side inner shaft. Along the same line..Rock Auto shows many different options for CV Half Shafts. Anyone know why the AC Delco are up to 10X more expensive? What are you getting that you aren't getting with the other manufacturers? Just curious.

Re: 2004 CV half shaft replacement
AC is is always more, I would think they have stricter guidelines for the rebuilding process. Autozone.com, repair guides has decent instructions.

Re: 2004 CV half shaft replacement
I noticed that there are two options for ordering replacement half-shafts depending on Option code FQ3 (2.86 gear ratio) or Option code F83 (3.05 gear ratio). I don't have the original window sticker. Do you know of any other way to determine which gear ratio the car has? VIN? My LeSabre is a Custom btw.

Re: 2004 CV half shaft replacement
Look at the rpo tag on the spare tire cover.
