I am replacing the front rotors on V6 automatic with rear disk brakes and noticed driver's side half shaft boot was split.
I pulled the spindle and attempted prying the half shaft out! It wont budge. There is no plate on the differential, so it doesn't use Chevy type horse-shoe retainers to retain the shaft. What do I need to know to pull the shaft out? Input much apprerciated. Thanks, bouldercreekgreg |

You have to cut the inner most boot clamp, pull the inner boot back, remove the large spring clip inside the inner CV joint housing, then pull the axle out. The inner CV housing stays in the truck. You'll need a new CV clamp for the inside.

I was going to post a link the the diff drop bracket write up in case you really wanted to know But couldnt find it. They involve the same work since you have to drop the differential and remove the inner cv cups to change the brackets.
