Re: Has anyone done this?

Hello!

I don't think it's a good idea, the engine should be "sealed" to provide maximum performance, if there are any vacuum leaks you'll have different problems from small leaks to lean conditions; In your case it seems like it's going to be a massive leak...

Some users install that type of filter at the PCV valve line to provide more ventilation to the engine (I don't know how it works with performance), this is not a good idea as your car will fail the emissions test and WILL contaminate more as the PCV system has been disabled.

Oscar.

Re: Has anyone done this?

Sorry for the confusion, I meant to say some users WITH OTHER CARS disable the PCV system with those filters...

Where does that line connects to other than the TB?

Oscar.

Re: Has anyone done this?

Have you monitored O2 sensor voltages and short and long term fuel trims to make sure you're not running lean? From the looks of it, you're still going to be pulling in some unmetered air as that tube and now the filter are both located downstream of the MAF sensor, correct?

Re: Has anyone done this?

that tube in your hand is called the pcv tube. I believe it is where the pcv system draws it's fresh air from. It is routed through the intake air tube to impart a bit of negative pressure on the intake end. IMO, replacing this tube with the filter has no effect on any performance parameters, but I think it looks ghetto, and would cause you to fail the visual part of a state inspection.

Re: Has anyone done this?

Good Point Rich, but when you mentioned "ghetto", you failed to mention the duct tape being used to hold the hot air intake duct into place.

Don't do it Khung.
