VIN question 2005 Elantra
Looking at repair info on autozone.com, I see they have different methods depending on VIN P and VIN F. What exactly does that mean? How do I know if it's VIN P or VIN F? Thanks!

Re: VIN question 2005 Elantra
Typically that refers to the engine code. In a 2005 Elantra though, there was only 1 engine, the 2.0L, and it is an engine code of "D". There is no part of the VIN on a 2005 that would have a P or an F. The '99-'00 Elantra's, yes, but not a 2005. The engine code of a '99-'00 Elantra was an "F", but that was it. Earlier than a '99, they had a 1.8L, but it was engine code "M", and the 1.6L even earlier than that was code "R". Then again, it is Autozone, and I don't trust anything they have, sell, or do.
