2001 Grand Prix transmission won't shift

When in drive, will not shift automatically.....but...can go through the gears manually...1-2-3 and will shift fine that way. One shop said 'need new tranny' ?? Co-worker said possibly the modual??
Any input appreciated.

Re: 2001 Grand Prix transmission won't shift

When you put the car in D it will start the move or will act like it's in P or N?

You might have a bad Transmission Range Switch (TRS from now on). Try and see if the car starts ONLY when in P or N, if it doesn't the TRS is definitely bad.

Other than that I have no idea, but other (more experienced) users will surely chime in
with good advise!

Oscar.
