name that part

Hello. I have been hearing a clicking noise near the back of my car lately. The noise is a series of 3 clicks in a row, and there is not anything I can do to reproduce it on demand. I was making sure that my fuel filler tube was not leaking last night and I noticed a part right near the fuel filler neck that has a relatively large diameter (maybe 5/8 inch or bigger) hose and an electrical connector going to it. If anyone knows what it might be, please let me know. If I need to, I can post a pic. Thanks!

Re: name that part

Maybe the vapor canister? It's located at the rear driver side fender; I just don't remember having an electrical connector on it but does have a couple of hoses with a bigger diameter.

Re: name that part

The only thing I can think of is the evaporative emissions vent solenoid.

That's got to be it. Just a large diameter hose and an electrical connector going to a small box with vents in the side. Thanks Bob! How is it supposed to work though? Every so often I hear it click three times in a row, like it's trying to energize or something. I'm not getting an SES light or anything, I've just been noticing it lately and wondering if it is supposed to do that.
