92 RS ECM issue

Ive got a 92 RS, 305 tbi and a few months ago it started acting strange. at times it wouldnt start, and when it would it ran horribly. a friend of mine also had the same problem and told me i needed a better ground to the ecm, so i did and all was well. However, the other day the problems came back, so i took out the ecm to see if my groundwire had come loose, and instead i found that the 2 inside corners of the connectors to the computer had started to melt. Does anyone have any idea of why this would happen and what my problem may be. im out of ideas
