2nd Gen Eagle Talon Turbo Replacement, Ideal Turbo?

I was thinking about buying this 2nd Gen Eagle Talon. I know it's a 95-99 TSi that needs a new turbo. I was just curious if there is a replacement that is better for the same price of the stock turbo. Which is a Garrett T25 I believe and I found one for around $595 remanufactured or $845 Performance OEM.

Also, can I have the original turbo rebuilt and is that a good idea?

If your going to spend 600-800 dollars on a stock turbo, I would definitely replace it with a larger more efficient turbo for about the same money...

Here is a suggestion for an upgrade where you wouldn't need to upgrade any other parts at first if you keep the boost down lower like 10psi... After that if you wanna run more boost, you should upgrade your pump, injectors and perhaps get a AFC to tune with.

T-25 turbos are a dime a dozen. If you just want to pick up a replacement Im sure you could find a good used one for under 100$.

I had alot of problems with my t25 after a rebuild. So I just bought a brand new T/3 T/4 next to nothing and it runs great. Course you would have to get a new DP and manifold to fit it.

All he'll need then is a new fuel pump, injectors, a way to control them, etc, etc...

T3/T4 says nothing about the turbo itself beyond footprint and flanging.

This is also a month old...
