Question A/t oil temp gauge

My A/T oil temp idiot light is on. The transmission is full of fluid. What does this light mean and how do I fix the problem. The pathfinder is a 95 4X4 with only 123,000 original miles. It runs and drive perfect and the transmission shifts fine. WHAT SHOULD IDO???
