inner-outer tie rod replacement, how difficult?
Hi all,
Posted here before about this car and I'll be straight, I am not a mechanic which means I AM mechanically inclined but do not enjoy the prospects of vehicle work. That being said, what kind of difficulty rating would an expert give to this? I work on aircraft mechanical and electronic components for a living so I understand basic procedures like marking before removing and so on but are there any good tips to making this as easy as possible? Ordinarily I'd pass on doing this myself but since I'm making about half of what I used to I'm going to have to do it myself if I want the car to be other than a driveway space filler. Thanks in advance for any wisdom from you guys who love to do this kind of thing. ps, any parts recommendations (heard something about MOOG) or manufacturers to stay away from? I'll be buying the parts online to reduce cost but don't want to buy new junk. |

Inner tie rod end replacement.... no comment,
Outer tie rod end, se this writeup... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=929004 What makes you think your inners are bad? I dont think I've ever change an inner tie rod end on one. Seems the racks blow seals long before the inner tie rod ends fail.
