Accident - Hood replacement or Fix?

Hi,

My 2001 Passat (Old Body) needs a new Hood due to an accident. Should I have a body shop fix the old one and repaint, or should I have them buy a new one? Either way, any recommendations?

Thank you.

Re: Accident - Hood replacement or Fix?

I feel ya, I just got in an accident not too long ago, (St. Patricks Day). Due to the accident, I had to replace the hood, hood latch, radiator, radiator fan, plastic the headlights sit in,headlights, and the power steering resivor. Did it all myself, Can say the hood is pretty hard to line up. That was the hardest part of the whole thing. I'd try it myself first though and see if you could save any money that way, pick a part !
Good luck with your fix!
