Lower ball joints

My 03 envoy has factory ball joints do we need to remove the lower control arm to press the ball joint in or could we hammer them in place

no go to autozone and rent a press and you get your money back when you take it back. no hammer..

Correct there is a special ball joint tool for both ends of the operation, good advice, Scrapper.
