Question Good down payment?

Today I ran across a 96 Civic EX with 16" alloys, D16 SOHC V-TECH, and a 5 spd. tranny. The car is pretty much stock and it also has a $6000 price tag on it. I really want this car but have no money. I do on the other hand have an 89 Civic DX with a D15 that has Crane Camshafts, AEM Camgears, AEM c.a. Intake, custom catback piping leading to a 4.5" tipped muffler. The interior has been painted from a ugly tan to a gloss black complete with chrome/carbon fiber pedals and shiftknob. Sadly though my civic is an automatic. Anyway do you think I would be able to use my car as a down payment or some sort of "trade and pay" deal?

If you sold your mods and then the car you would get more money than if you sold the car with the mods.

A good downpayment would be about 1/2 of the asking price. And then refinance the rest with a bank.

You could trade in your car, and that would help a little. It all depends on the dealership, but nothing is better than cash as a down payment. Try parting out your car, puttin it back to stock and getting some dough before trading it in.
