YO - thought i'd show u guys my pics of the other integra seat installed.
I also changed the oil, and changed the tranny with GM Synchromesh fluid to test for the Si tranny going in with the ZC. It definitely makes a difference in smoothness of shifting over regular ol' 10w30, however, I think my 3rd gear synchros are so bad, they'll never be completely quiet. I cleaned out the inside of my car finally too. Pollen is a pain in the ass, and it was dirty as hell ![]() Here are some pics of the seats, and a little action during the process. You can see here the two brackets..the Civic bracket comes off after you drill out the two rivets attaching it to the Civic rail...this pic shows the difference in the location of the brackets if they were mounted on the same rail (integra). The Civic bracket is the one I am holding, and you can see the integra bracket is sticking forward and in of where the hole would be in the car. The Civic bracket in roughly the position I am holding it is the ultimate goal here.\/ \/ This pic is grinding off the welds holding the Integra bracket to the rail. all you need to be careful of here is not messing up the rail itself, but you can totally destroy the bracket if you want. Gotta love power tools ![]() \/ \/ This is close up of the civic bracket on the integra rail complete with two bolts for a proper, safe installation (i only had one on the driver's seat and removed it today and drilled and installed the 2nd bolts as well). I made the exact same modifications to the passenger seat as the driver's seat. After the experiences with the driver's seat, the passenger seat actually fits a little better, because I positioned the brackets and marked them prior to drilling/bolting to the rails so everything lines up great! - I used 2 short (~1") 1/4" bolts & nuts on each bracket (total of 8 for two seats) - As you can see, the Integra rail ends up being about an inch too long, so when you slide the Civic bracket back just a little, it fits!\/ \/ Here is the finished product!! 91 Integra seats (from a 3-door) into the 91 Civic DX 4-door \/ \/ Here is a shot of the pile of stuff under the hood I also worked on (I guess you could call this one of those useless miscellaneous pics Melt likes to post ) \/ \/CAI Power!! ![]() actually I was reassembling the CAI here..it sits up a little higher when installed correctly..I used my K&N recharger kit and cleaned the filter \/ \/ Ok..that's it - I know you guys are gonna say - when are you gonna put in the ZC? As soon as I move and buy an engine hoist! - Promise!

Buying an engine hoist is such a waste of money unless you do swaps all the time. I rented one for $30/day and use it for all of about an hour, and that was it, just enough time to pull the old one out and get the new one in. I also did this on the street in front of my house, not a garage.

Good idea..I guess I should say "acquire an engine hoist.." I don't plan to do so many swaps I need to own one. My GF has a buddy that does them all the time and owns one..I prolly borrow his, or rent one.
I also have other tasks planned during the engine, so I will have the car off the road a few weeks (minor body work, rear-disc swap, etc..), the weather has been so shitty this spring, I want the car in the garage, so I can work on it when I want to, not when Mother Nature allows me - thanks for the tip!

Also good work on that seat rail, I don't think I've seen anyone figure out how to properly put in Integra seats without being all ghetto until I saw this post.

Thanks for the compliments dude...yeah...all bolt holes are properly lined up and bolted in. I don't usually like to do things ghetto if I can help it, but it also means I have to be slow and methodical about the process..hence my apprehension about the ZC install without a garage and another car to drive while I swap.
The only thing that didn't fit was the plastic trim pieces that cover the bolts in the back of the seats. If I had thought I about it, I should have grabbed them from the Integra to snap on, but I forgot. And that Seattle thing is a running joke at my house too... I want some sunshine darnit!!! :silly2:

![]() I dunno about the hatch...if you check the pics, you'll notice the sedan has auto/motorized shoulder belts..The 91 Integra I got these from came with the exact same setup, so I didn't have to move anything over, even the lap belt buckle and shit is all the same. Oh..except the Integra belt& plastic cover is black and mine was grey :silly2: - I think the hatches are different so I am not sure You may want to consider checking out a 94+ Integras...I am pretty sure they have regular 3-point belts like the hatches, instead of the dumb-ass auto shoulder/manual lap belts the 4-door has. I took a measuring tape with me to the junkyard and checked out a bunch of different seats from lots of different Honda/Acuras before settling on these. Maybe the 86-89 Integras fit also? - although most of those are prolly pretty old and beat now. ![]() Quote:

just a side note... if you have a hatch and are installing 90-93 teg seats, you will run into a couple other problems, as the sedan and hatch mounting brackets are slightly different. As soon as i get my seat swap done, i will post pictures for all you hatch folk.
good job, btw, looks great dude. |
