Got my tahoe grille and taillight mod done.

Picked up the truck from the body shop Friday and they had it all washed and ready for me to go bling around.
Will get some pics of the truck w the grille ...it looks 100% better than the original to me.

Also wired up the extra light on the 03+ tail-lights last night..works just like tha 03-05's now. It also looks much better, but you can only really tell at night.

Now off to photograph this beast. It also rained 5 minutes after I left the shop so its still dirty (as usual!!!!)

my grille is at the paint shop right now getting done, i should have it back on by wednesday. i got it painted to match, chrome bowtie, and black chrome speed grille inserts. hopefully the paint will turn out good!

I bet thats gunna be pimp tight. Next time IF I have to replace mine again...I'm doing the same, except I want chrome inserts.

I got it from Bill Heard..and I think it ran me about $480 or so...insurance paid for it. If you want a cheaper aftermarket one just like it, check out Keystone Automotive in Macon. I think you can get one for like $100 or so..

nahh, its the 5.3.. That one's out of an '02..its got about 85K on it while the truck's got 114K...

Debadge!!!I left the 1500 icon, I kinda like it, but get rid of those black bumper gaurds! I'm gonna take of the badges off the tailgate too, someday.
Since the debadging won't cost anything but elbow grease, might as well get the corner lights too. I like the one's I got from TYC, but thats a biased opinion...

Now, a question for you. Do you guys think my truck would look better with the silver stripes continued over the roof and down the tailgate or leave it as it is? I can get it done for $125.

i'd go with more stripes. looks good gives it a sort of race look. by the way, what kinda hood you got and how much did it run you?

A Reflexxion Domination I got it for $240 shipped off ebay, another $200 for paint. They are functional hoods, and everything matched up nice as far as bolt holes and what not.
Thanks for the advice, I'm kinda leaning that way anyhow.

I kinda agree. Not many trucks do you see with full racing stripes. BTW..how long did it take you to debadge your truck? and where did you get your clear corners? I like the ones you have.

I'd keep the trim on the sides, though... unless you want some door dings. Get your paint people to paint it to match your truck.

it took a couple hours....I think I would do it differently from what I did. I used a plastic spatuala and a hair dryer in the dead of winter in my garage......I think the fishing line a heat gun and summertime would be a much better combination.... The hardest part is getting that damn glue off.....Go through that sticky thread up top to see what removers people have used....

I got the lights off ebay, I think the were $40..??
