Engine Interchange - car/engine combos?

I'm trying to research engine swaps, but I'm not at all interested in doing one. My buddy has a V6 3.0 24-valve out of a 2001 Eclipse, and we're trying to sell it. We'd like to post what cars it will fit into in the advert so Average Joe engine-needing guys would have the info to help them make a decision. We'd like to know what possible cars it could go into? Short of going to Autozone and looking at every car one at a time in the computer, we can't find a list. I looked at the engine swap sticky and source links, looked at every post title and read the ones that even came close to having to do with an engine, and Tearstone, extensive googling, and all I found is that the Diamante and Galant have motors that fit into the Mitsubishi. But pretty much if it's compatible in one direction, will it be good in the other? Example - maybe one engine bay is bigger than the other, maybe it won't fit under the hood? We looked around a hell of a lot, but we're scratching our heads as to where the motor interchange info is. All we've gotten are 'how' to change engines, performance mods, and very specific accessories compatibility lists. Much more specific than a simple engine buyer on Craigslist is likely looking for.

Or is it more like a 'case-by-case', 'as-you-go' basis, where the guy needing an engine looks at the actual bolt pattern of the car he's trying to put it in and then goes shopping for a motor that has those physical specs? So the seller shouldn't even attempt to put together a compatibility list?

So to sum up this post, I'm curious at to what cars the 3.0 V6 out of a standard 2001 Eclipse would fit into, if any such list exists?
