installed ign. coil and got wierd noise?

i have a 91 civic si and i had just installed an ignition coil and when i started the car i got a loud screaching noise from the engine and it wouldnt start. has anyone had this prob before or heard of it? any info would be great. what the hell did i do to my car!!!!
