02 Alero shutting off while driving
I was driving home from work suddenly it just felt like the engine was losing power, pressed harder on the gas and i might have got 500 rpms out of it before it fell again. Trac off light came on. *service engine soon lights on but had been on for about a month* Engine finally quit after a quarter of a mile. It cranks but wont turn over. The lights started to dim and cranking got sluggish but i have used the head lights as a massive flashlight for fixing my girls car in the boonies a few days ago. I haven't been able to check the fuel pump yet but anyone have any ideas on what i should check when i get out their tomorrow..... oh wait a minute today.

Welcome to AF.
Which engine do you have. 2.2 Ecotec or 3400 V6? Was it scanned to see what odb-ii DTC(s) is present. Checking fuel pressure is a good starting point.

2.2 ecotec and i haven't been able to get it to the shop yet, im trying not too btw. it happened last night and its still sitting out there
