What to do?
I have a 2006 Matrix which is now being left sitting for periods of about 8 months of the year in Phoenix. We are snow birds from Canada and only use this car when we are in Phoenix. My question is how to I prepare the vehicle to sit that long other than add a fuel stabillizer and do an oil and filter change before leaving to return home? I always have used Amsoil Synthetic Oil since new. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Re: What to do?
For that length of time you've pretty much got it covered.
You can either disconnect the battery (which may need recharging anyway) or attach a trickle charger. The tires may need air before going back on the road or you can over-inflate them a few pounds before leaving it there. Is it stored indoors? The following is still recommended. If outside with grass underneath, place rodent deterrent around the engine compartment and also inside the vehicle. There are a number of ways, but my neighbor who leaves her mobile home at a park year round, places dryer sheets in likely entrance ways.

Thanks so much for your help. I never thought of the rodent problem.
