I just recently bought a 96 maxima and I absolutly love it. I have just one problem though, since I bought the car the starter has had problems. Occasionally when I go to start the car after it has been sitting for a while the starter grinds a couple times before it catches. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their max. I would like to avoid buying a new starter if possilble, any ideas????

just a suggestion.. if the stater is only grinding sometimes, you might have a few teeth missing on ur flywheel. in other words, most times your starter will catch fine and make no noise, but when it would hit the spot missing a few teeth it'll grind until it catches someting
