engine paint removal or other parts from plastic

Goodmorning, like i said i'm new at this again, and sorta forgot how too remove paint from plastic model part's,are there anything new for doing this , or just primer and hope for the best, thanks for everything so far, you guys are the best, thank's, Everett.

We need to know what type of paint you used. If it was tamiya TS laquer use 91% Alcohol. If it was an enamel use Easy-Off(yellow can) oven cleaner. If it was any type of water based acrylic 91% alcohol will do the trick.

Sorry , i think its enamal, was on some parts i bought, um was that easy off oven cleaner or ? i thought that would melt plastic, thanks for reply, Everett.

Isopropyl* alcohol should do it for most paints

*not quite sure if this is the correct word in english but look for 98% alcohol that is used in circuit boards making.

I have been lucky to strip almost every type of paint, even automotive cleared with 2K PU. Chrome is a charm, removes it very easily.

Yes Easy off ovencleaner, only use the Yellow can the blue can (fume free) does not work. It will not hurt the plastic,just rinse well. Use rubber gloves! Let it soak over night in an airtight container. Alcohol does not work on enamels but does work on everything else.

For stripping enamel, try a cleaner/degreaser like Purple Power, Castrol Super Clean, or Simple Green. All will do the job just as well as oven cleaner, but are much less nasty to use. You can pour it into a sealable plastic container and use it over and over as a stripping bath for enamels and acrylics. You can get them in the US at nearly any hardware store or auto parts store.
