Loud Rumbling in the rear of 95 Blazer
Ok..here is my question...when I bought my 1995 4WD Blazer...it had to have the differential fixed/replaced right away..about a month ago I started to hear a rumbling sound in the rear of my vehicle..it has progressively gotten worse, and th erumbling sound is much louder as you slow down...doesn't seem to affect the performance of the vehicle..I am just curious on any ideas..the man I bought it from thinks it might be the pinions? The truck has about 222,000 miles on it..newer engine so not sure of how many miles on that but body wiase..it is a 222,000 mile vehicle.

Re: Loud Rumbling in the rear of 95 Blazer
It could be anything from a tire or a wheel bearing to a carrier bearing or lash in the pinion. It might also be the transfer case, but that noise should emanate from the approximate middle of the vehicle.
