'94 Caravan 3.0L no radio & blower hi only
My 3.0L '94 Caravan (145k mi.) radio & blower stoped at the same time, blower only works at hi speed. The fuses under the dash are good & the power supply ones under the hood don't apply. So what can it be that takes out both radio & blower?

Sometimes one fuse supplies another fuse...
Does the radio fuse have power? Do all the fuses under the dash have power? |

Just because the fuse is good, doesn't mean that it has power...

Re: '94 Caravan 3.0L no radio & blower hi only
Don't see a clear common denominator in the schematics except both have ties to the data bus. You could try pulling the IOD fuse in the PDC for 5 minutes to reset the BCM (heart of the bus). A blower running on high only is almost always a shot blower motor resistor block passenger side firewall under the hood at least on 3rd generation vans. Not sure of location on your 2nd gen van. $20 at many parts stores. Is your radio aftermarket? It may have an inline fuse hanging near it. How's your battery? A weak battery can cause strange coincidences.

Re: '94 Caravan 3.0L no radio & blower hi only
Hey Mike & RIP, Didn't check for power to fuses, Battery is new, Radio is stock, have to dig in repair books where to find resistor, can't see it from glove box. What is the IOD fuse?
Thanks for answering. |

Re: '94 Caravan 3.0L no radio & blower hi only
IOD stands for ignition off draw. This fuse supplies power to ther Body Control Module (BCM) at all times to keep the memory alive. The factory pulls this fuse for shipment to keep from draining the battery in shipment. Dealers reinstall them. Should be in the under hood fuse panel labeled IOD or Memory.

Re: '94 Caravan 3.0L no radio & blower hi only
Ok guys, the blower now works, $10 Duralast resistor w/lifetime warr.! Resistor on my '94
is under hood next to hood hinge passenger side, it was rusty on the outside prongs. Now the Radio & clock still are out & no blown fuses. |
