!995 SSE Charging problem?
The car will show a charge then drop off at any time warm or cold. I have changed the alternator and it never helped so I'm sure that was a waste of money. There is one heavy red wire running to the alternator hot post to Battery and 1 small red wire that plugs into the alternator. I'm not seeing and bad wires, so is this a big problem or just maybe a ground problem? Thanks for any ideas!

Re: !995 SSE Charging problem?
The heavy wire is running staight to the battery and checks the same as the guage on the dash or my digital volt meter. You start the car and it might be charging 14.5 or you will hear the motor's idle drop and its running 12.10 or so. Then it idles back up and doing fine. I have changed the alternator 2 times and still the same or maybe worse. I left it at my garage Friday as I was confused to no end. I wonder how the smaller wire excites the regulator as it shows no voltage until it starts working again.

Re: !995 SSE Charging problem?
The small wire that plugs in is the one that was not working all the time, the battery wire had what ever volts that battery had in it. I think the smaller wire has some resistence built into from the computor.
