Unhappy bonneville sse 1989 problem with charging system

i just buy a bonneville sse 1989 and everything is working in perfect condition exept the charge ... let me explain my battery gage in dash is chowing the battery charge is full ( suppose to be between 12 to 13.5 amp ) mine is at 18 so i got problem somewere and i dont now where it is .... can someone help me ?

I think your probably talking volts not amps. It's probably your voltage regulator that is inside the alternator. The Alt is pretty easy to take off and take to a re-seller to have them check it (most do it for free) so shop around, if you can afford it, and plan on keeping the car, buy the better one that has a lifetime replacement warranty.

that the problem , i already change my alternator and made it veryfi last week end . i also change my battery and i made a tune up ....
but i still have this problem , no am tiking that maybe is the gadge in the dash..... but ..... anyway thank you for your reply
