Comparison between intakes

JWT Pop Charger vs. Hotshot CAI

What is the difference between these? I keep seeing them mentioned all over the place but whats the advantage/disadvantage to each?
Are they even the same thing!??

The are different. The Pop charger is a warm air intake. It gains more power than a standard filter because the MAF adapter has a radiused (sp?) inlet to provide better air flow. Advantage being slightly less money and you don't have to worry about sucking water into the motor.

The Cold Air intake goes all the way into the wheelwell. The filter is actually in the wheelwell. This intake will make more hp, due to resonanace tuning and by colder air going into the motor. The downside is that there is the possibility to suck up water, it is slightly more expenisve, and some people don't like the noise it produces. It can be rather loud at WOT.
Hope this helps.

So about how much does the Hotshot CAI run?
Also, what kind of sound is it? Like a deep roar sound or what?

I paid right around $180.00 for mine about 2 years ago. (actually here's the reciept... 2 years and 3 days to be exact!) WOW! That's a long time, I had no idea i had my intake that long. As for the sound... it's a very unique sound. If you've heard a cold air intake on a Neon, it's pretty similar to that. It has a similar type of noise to the CAI's on Honda's. But the tone is totally different, a lot deeper tone. It's pretty tough to describe it with words... Does anyone have a sound file of their car, i could upload it to a site for people to listen to if needed.

Wide Open Throttle.

Close, but don't forget the weird resonance sound the intake makes up near redline. (hmm.. wonder in the new intake cam will change that?)
