engine noise after oil change

I took my 99 avalon in for an oil change, but when I started the car the next morning the engine sounded like there was something was loose in the front valve cover, but after starting and stopping the engine to check things like oil level the noise sort of went away. I say sort of cause it did it for a couple of seconds for my dad to hear then it ran quiet, could it be the valve train needing adjustments? it has 170,000 miles. your thoughts guys.

I would replace the oil and oil filter. It may be that they put the wrong filter on or used the wrong viscosity oil by accident. Just because the correct part number or viscocity is listed on the invoice doesn't mean that's what was installed.

Check the accessory belt(s) and make sure they are all approximately tensioned correctly.

Check the coolant level in the radiator and the tank (cold).

Not likely the valve train.
