Blower Motor Resistor
So I've checked all the other posts on here regarding this and there are different answers about where this is located. Some say its under the passenger side dash (which is where I've found it in other vehicles) and others indicate that its in the engine block near the air conditioning housing. So not sure where to look. I don't want to pull the dash apart if I can help it but also don't want to go routing around in the engine if its not there.
The heater is only blowing on 3 and 4 which tells me that its a resistor, as I've had the same problem in other vehicles. Can anyone tell me specifically where it is in this vehicle?? Thanks Specs: 1998 GMC Jimmy 4.3L Vortec Engine 4X4 4Dr Rocky Mountain Edition Manual AC/Heater controls |

Re: Blower Motor Resistor
Right rear of engine compartment on AC/heater housing.
Usully mounted on by 2 screws but resister part of sticks down in heater housing look for 4-5 wires on the top side of it. Get one and look at it to see what you are looking for. Let us know how it goes.
