how do i know where to stop when i change my gear ratio

when it stops accelerating in top gear, without touching the rev limiter, but is CLOSE to redline ...

If you are on a short track, that won't be good, you want more accel, some tracks I don't see top gear.

I just kept redoing till i got it perfect for each track each car with its own setting for corse makes the game so much eaiser and more fun.

depends on how much acceleration or top speed you want. if anyone doesnt know, moving the gear ratio left increases acceleration for that gear, but the less top speed you will get. the farther right you move the gear ratio, the higher the top speed you will reach, but will have less acceleration

You got that backwards guy, it's LEFT FOR SPEED-RIGHT FOR ACCEL.

Use the control at the bottom. The only time I mess with the individual gears is sometimes I adjust low and second on fast cars to keep from getting low on slow turns. I gear mine to where it hits the rev limiter on the longest straight for a second or two before I lift. My theory is that the top speed you lose is offset by better accel the rest of the way around.
