05 Impala Oil pan removal 3800
I have a 2005 Impala SS. It's a 3800 Supercharged with right at 100k miles on it. I've recently discovered that the oilpan gasket is leaking. I've tightened all the bolts but to no avail...it still leaks.
Here's my question. I'm positive I can get all the bolts out without jacking the engine but will I be able to get the oil pan out? Last edited by drm11900; 10-26-2010 at 10:01 AM. Reason: spelling |

Re: 05 Impala Oil pan removal 3800
Anybody??
Has anybody tried getting the oil pan out without jacking the engine? Or maybe getting it to drop enough to slip the gasket around the pickup tube? |

Info at autozone.com, repair guides, register and go to engine mechanical.

Re: 05 Impala Oilpan removel 3800
OK max I checked it out and thanks for the info but I'm really wanting to cheat the gasket in and was hoping some one else has done it with sucess to give me the confidence to go ahead and try it.
Problem is if I get the bolts out and then discover that I can't replace the gasket without jacking the engine I'd be to comitted at that point to turn back. |

That's a new one for me. autozone looks like a good resource.
