89 GMC Transmission/Transfer Case problems-PLEASE HELP!!!
Good evening everybody, I'm gonna need the professionals on this one so anyone who can help I really could use it right now!! Ok here it goes,
I have an 89 GMC Sierra K2500 4wd- About 2 weeks ago while I was accelerating from a stop sign I lost power in all ranges including 4WD. After towing it home I noticed that the TCC solenoid switch that plugs into the top of the transfer case had somehow fallen down and the rear driveline must of severed it. Also in my fuse panel the 4WD fuse was blown. So rewired the TCC wires and replaced the blown fuse, I concluded that I needed to replace the torque converter. So after doing all that I still have nothing. When I start the truck back up i notice that there is noticable idleing problem maybe due to a vacuum leak. Oh and one last thing. The light down by the transfer case lever, only the front axle part is lit up. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Thanks again for any help... Anybody care to offer some advice on where I should go next with this? I'm no mechanic by any means but I cannot afford to pay a shop. Please help, thank you... |

Very tough to diagnose remotely, ok, so it won't move in any gear, none of the drive shafts are moving ft or rr, correct? Any noises? What did the TC have to do with any of this, big job to replace unless you had a definitive diagnosis.
