Smile Clear brown fuel lines or breather hoses???

G'day everyone, this question might have already been asked or it hasn't and as I am new to the forum, can anyone out there tell me if there is a way to painting clear tube to give it that clear yellowie brownish look like on the two stroke bikes? I know you can buy the clear brown and I already have some but I cannot find it in 0.8mm. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Welcome to AF!

You might try dipping the hoses in clear acrylic paint, like Tamiya. Mixing orange with a bit of blue will give you a reasonably funky shade of oily brown.

The WIP Motorbikes area is specifically for in-progress threads of bike builds. Everything else should go in the general car modeling area. You'll get more useful help this way, even if your questions pertain mainly to bikes.

I agree, thats how i would do it. Dip it and then take out and dry. If too clear still repeat process. Also you can clean off the outside with some thinner after to make it seem like the residue is only on the inside. I know they make green tubing, i think top studio or hobby design make it.

I have seen a way to do it on YouTube - mix up some color paint "thin" the color you want and then fill the tubing with the paint via a syringe or thru capillary action. That is how they do it in Japan - John

I've done this many times and works beautifully. Just put a little on a toothpick and let it go up into it via capillary action and voila--brown hoses.
