Re: 2005 yukon denali nav DVD

We just picked up a 2005 Denali with navigation. I don't know how to use it (or any of the other gazillion buttons), but I'll check with Mrs. Cusser to see if it came with a DVD or CD disc. I have capacity to copy most types of discs, unless it's protected. You need "replacement media", obviously such disc is useless to anyone without the product.

Update: Mrs. Cusser said we have such disc for ours, so I will try to make a copy for you. Send your home or business address through PM here on this web site.

Re: 2005 yukon denali nav DVD

A little research on the Net shows that these discs are likely dual-layer DVD discs, and have copy protection encryption. That might be way over my head, and my equipment limitations. There might also be different files for different regions of the country. I'll investigate further.

Apparently, GM charges a lot for replacement or updated discs for these, way more than they should for replacement media. Like if one loses , breaks, or scratches their disc, GM wants to ream for a new one.

Maybe keep searching Google and Ebay.

Re: 2005 yukon denali nav DVD

Well, I tried. I got some Dual Layer DVD+R discs and my DL DVD recording drive ready. Nero software said disc completed successfully, but the disc just read "Disc Error" when inserted into the Navigation Drive. So I can't even make a back-up disc for myself, bet GM did all this on purpose, wasn't content just to sell the hardware and one disc, but wanted to profit big on replacement discs. No wonder the Japanese and Europeans are kicking their a$$ !!!

Re: 2005 yukon denali nav DVD

down imgburn http://www.imgburn.com/ - its free - dual layer is correct - my recognized it on +dvdr. As for the file you can get 1 here if it is compatable to yours
torrent/5436322/Gm_Nav_Disc_20861673_version_5.0c_2010
by the way if you burn dual on an average burner - run it at 2x speed max.
