2007 Corolla engine compartment vibration/knocking
Hi all, I am having some trouble diagnosing a particular problem with my Corolla
There is a constant knocking noise that starts out soft and gradually gets louder coming from the left side of the engine compartment. It only happens when sitting still with the car in drive. As soon as I put the car in neutral or reverse the sound goes away. It usually happens when it is cool out/car is just started up, but it is has occurred in warmer conditions. I did a quick check of the engine compartment to check for loose/broken engine mounts, components, etc... but found nothing. Thanks in advance. |

Check your Air box, that tends to vibrate.

You were right it was the air box. Added 1 washer to the mounting bolts and the noise went away.
