Porsche 934 RSR Turbo - HELLER - 1/24
This is my first WIP here. You can see some of my previous work there:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1050447 I will start with the Heller 1/24 kit. It is a pretty old kit but I could not find any thread dealing with it in this forum so I thought it might be worth posting. I really like the box art: Inside the box, it is a fairly simple kit, but lot of preparation work on body as you can see: I started work by removing sink marks, rescribing panels and fixing up missing roof gutters and door trims: Then I removed molded intake mesh. It will be replaced with real mesh and I also added some depth to front side intakes to match 1:1 pictures I found. Next step is putty where needed and primer to check body appearance. Comments and critics are welcome.

Re: Porsche 934 RSR Turbo - HELLER - 1/24
Thanks for comments.
Here is some progress. I applied first coat of primer to check work done so far. It does not look too bad except for rear bumper. I did not like the way Heller cut it in two parts between frame and body, so I cut half of the bumper from frame and tried to match it with body. (sorry I do not have any pictures). Fit was really bad so I had to use quite some putty to fix it and as you can see on pictures there is still some work left to do...The intakes at the front also need some minor rework, but I am almost there! ![]() The roof gutter and the rescribing especially around the wing look good to me. So now I need to get back to sanding and putty process...

Very good progress so far. The model is looking great now. How did you make the roof gutters?

Re: Porsche 934 RSR Turbo - HELLER - 1/24
It was pretty easy: I just glued a strip of styrene. I first tried to cut some out of styrene sheets but it did not work because it had to be really thin and then I found some made by Evergreen at the local hobby store. It works great.
I hope it helps.

Thanks for comments.
Here are some updates. I finally finished primer and moved to paint. Color is testor enamel burgundy red. with airbrush (I just started using it for good and I love it with testor enamel paint). I hope you like it too.

The shine is fantastic. You didn't mention if you had polished it or not, either way its a great finish.
