Question about air intake systems
hey,
I have a 2007 Impala with the 3.9l V6 engine. Can you put one of the K&N air intake systems on this engine, or are these systems only for the V8 engine? |

Re: Question about air intake systems
Yes you can just go to http://www.knfilters.com and put your year, make, model, engine size and they show you performance gains they guarantee but you could build one yourself with a good supply house to assist.

Re: Question about air intake systems
Let me clarify my response to "building" your own high performance filter. Depending on application it may be more cost effective to just build your own from other sources that manufacture pretty much the same filter system except you buy what you need to accomplish what they have already put together in a kit specifically for your application. A lot of the time you can accomplish this a little cheaper than the k & n brand. And most applications that aren't covered by k & n can be built to fit. O'Reillys carries filters and fittings to "pipe" the cold air in as you need whether you have fuel injection or a carburetor.

Re: Question about air intake systems
Yes you can put them on most cars and engines.
But why do you want one? HP or gas milage or deceration or sound? If just HP and mileage it is not worth the expense and effort. Also the K&N filter do not work out with the Computers and sensors. Also many so called cold air intake systems are not even as good as the OEM cold air setup.
