How about this?

1. find a brass rod and brass or aluminium pipe.

2. Insert the rod to a short pipe, and bend the rod to shape like "["

3. Bend and form a curve at the top and bottom. You have two options.
a. The front of the door or hatch goes inside the body.
b. The front of the door or hatch goes outside the body.

4. Glue the top and bottom end of the rod directly to the body, or glue two extra pipes on the body, and insert the rod into them.

Strange that your previous models on your messages has already opening doors and hoods?? By the way, they look very cool.
