A good race, and I finally see what my G can do...130+ !!
ok well here is what happend, I am awaken around 11:00 pm by my friend ken calling and saying that our friend kyle found this really cool road, with no street lights, no trafic, and very secluded, and long, and that he's been practicing on it for a while and that he wanted me, ken, and our friend brent to come up there and race him on it, so, we went, at about 1:30 am, we all got there and took a couple of 100 mph runs on it just getting the hang of it, the road is about 1 mile and a half long, stop sign to stop sign, and its layout is like this : a very small straight away, level ground, then it goes into a long left curve, then after that a VERY long downhill straight away which levels out and then goes up towards the end, then, a long downhil right turn and a small straight away to the end, so me and kyle, who owns a 98 Sentra, are at the "start line" and i'm a little behind him so I move up a little to even us out, but apperently he thought I was about to go so he took off, so, I held my clutch in for a lil while and burned out and took off after him, he was ahead of me in the first long left hand curve, and part of the downhill straight away, but near the begining, I was allready almost redlined in 4th gear, and I just flew by him on the straight away, then I put it in 5th gear, now by the time I was towards the bottom of the hill, I look down at my speedomiter and, well I have a 91 G20 5 speed manual, it reads at 130, and when I looked, I didnt see the lil arm on it and I was like wtf, so i glance down a little more, and see that its under the dashboard, like right on the edge there not quite under it but past the 130 mark, then I glance at my RPM's and I see that im something like 6,500 in 5th gear, I was pretty freaked out that my engine was about to blow up, and then came the downhill right turn, now, kyle knows this road, I dont, so he knew how to take the turn, I slowed down too much and he passed me, but then on the small straight away after that I cought back up with him, then at the stop sign we turned around and opened our hoods to let the engines cool, anyways, I was like so freaked out I had no Idea I could get going that fast, and I am still a bit worried aobut some damage I may have done to my engine, also I know how bad my rotors are warped now because when I breaked on that right curve my steering wheel was shaking like crazy, well tahts my story for tonight, I have to go to work in one hour so im going to bed now byebye.
oh and btw next time we do this, ken is taking his camera and sticking it between my two front seats to catch this in action, i cant wait...

And some people wonder why we have speed restrictions!

You know I'm down with speeding and all but guys think about this. I always check out the Montreal Subaru club board..chat with them often too. I was watching the news and there was this Impreza that went airborne and killed its driver...Went to the board to see (hoping it wasn't) if it was one of theirs. Turns out it was..I did'nt know him personally I raced him a coulpe of times and had a few good laughs with him...Now he's not there anymore..Saw him one day gone the next..He was driving fast with a passenger in his car on a secluded road on Ile Bizard..in a downhill curve he came around too fast lost traction hit an incline that sent him into the air and went face to face with a big rock. The passenger somehow survived the driver is dead. This really woke me up to reality and I hope all you reading this won't have to live through (or die) a situation like this.

yes, I know it wasnt too smart, my tires did slide going around the corner but i was able to manage to keep it on the road, I hightly doubt I'll do it again, I think I just needed to get it out of my system, and now its gone, when I think about stuff like what If I would have got cought going 100 mph over the speed limit, I'd never be able to drive again! I dont think we'll be doing that road again, it was fun when I did do it, and I sure would love to do it again, but thinking about the consiquenses is whats stopping me, I'll still be doing lil 1/4 mile drags in empty parking lots and stuff but no more cornering at 130 hheheh....
well see u all later

Get yourself along to a circuit and do it properly - Instructors to show you the right and wrong way to do it, no chance of prosecution, no oncoming traffic, a course designed for speed, and people present who know what to do if it all goes wrong - what more could you ask for?
After doing the above, I came away with a much greater respect for what my car can do (more importantly what it cannot do). I also learned about some of the common mistakes drivers make that get them into trouble. Do it, you won't regret it.

On the SE-R Mailing List we had one of our own kill a 40 year old mother of two about 3 years ago. Don't be stupid folks. There are plenty of lapping and driver training events today. Go to one (or more).

ya street racing is dangerous, even when your not and just going fast you have a chance of getting in a crash or being killed. trust me i know, i crashed into a pole head on at almost 55 mph going on an on-ramp. pretty scary, hope you dont do anything like that.
