Exclamation Questions about Engine & Engine Bay for O.Z. Lancer

Hey!!!

I was wondering if the 4G63 Engine can fit in the engine bay of the U.S. 2002 OZ Lancer and will there be enough space to fit a Turbo Kit ??? And does anybody know where I can find a 4G63 Engine, a completely brand new 4G63 engine ???

THANX
PEACE!!!! :smoker2: :grey: :sun: :bandit:

Well, I personally think that the 4g63 WILL fit into the O.Z. because they both have the same displacement (or about...???). I have heard other people say they have done the swap, but not sure about the turbo part. Hope this link might help you.

I dont know of anyone that has put a 4g63 in a oz lancer yet. It could be done but if you want the engine and the awd drive you would need to find a shop that can fabricate custom mounts for the engine and also make the mounts for the drivetrain. Im not sure if you know this already or or not but the u.s. market lancer is actualy sold as a Cedia in or a virage in asian countrys and shares more in common with those then an evo lancer. Also a good place to look for performance parts for you lancer is road race motorsports.

This has been discussed before, but I believe the USDM Lancer has then engine and G/box reversed, i.e. on the otherside of the car to the RHD models. This means you either have to find a 4g63 that spins in the opposite direction and has a g/box to go with it, or you have to a lot of fabrication to make the RHD engine fit a LHD car.

I would think that a GST engine/trans would go in fairly easily, if maybe a few custom motor mounts. But then what do I know about Lancer OZs...
