Cool Special thread for the Citroën SM

One of the best Citroën with a Maserati engine, extraordinary ! Alas, the petrol crisis achieve its carrier too quickly.

Cool!

There is even a "Citroen Maserati" club in Switzerland.

I've wanted an SM ever since I saw one as a kid. Even with the ugly US spec headlights.

I've seen an SM cruising in the Atlanta area several times, hope to be able to chat with the driver one day.

The Citroen SM was so cool I say a new section in the Citroen forums is needed! Did you know that Maserati made about a dozen ''Quattroporte II'' 4-door sedans that were mechanically identical to the SM? They don't look like SMs but they share the same chassis and mechanicals, share the same front lights AND yes they were even front-wheel-drive! (the only Maserati ever ) Just before the big ol' mid-'70s Oil Crisis struck. Here's a pic

... Also early Maserati Bora's and Merak's had some SM parts (mostly hydraulics and dashboards)

What do u think of this rare open-top SM by Chapron? I like it but not as much as an open DS.
