The kid is dead wrong about the weight - its over 3000 lbs.

But face it, with well over 350 ft/lbs of torque, the SS had no trouble running anywhere from mid 13's to high 12's (in a few cases even mid 12's).

The Camaro's and Firechicken's shared the same 350 horespower 5.7L Corvette LS1 - exactly the same motor, with slighly more restrictive intakes and exhaust (but even then some SS's were rated as high as 340 HP from the factory).

Besides the weight thing, why is all the other stuff you wrote so hard to believe? Where have you been in the last 10 years?

I could go on about the automatic crack. I'd just be careful if I were you boy, cause an automatic SS is a deadly challenge - which just about any "kid" can pilot to a 13 second ET.

He's correct about all of what he said except the weight.

'02 SS
Horsepower 325+ (depending on options it could be higher)
Torque: 350+
Weight: 3439lbs
0-60: 5.2
1/4: 13.5 @ 107mph

And, it being an automatic doesnt mean anything. Just means it can run more consistant 1/4 mile times is all.

face it, his camaro is faster than your eclipse. he's correct on the times but he's probably just guessing or has no real idea about the weight. no harm no foul

Doesn't an eclipse weigh like 3400 lbs anyway?
Those LS1 camaros / birds aren't a joke, especially if you weigh more than they do...

The trick to handle any LS1 powerd car is more boost . now to be serouis. Your rice burnner is not going to get that SS. . I love my turbo buick but thoes LS1's are damn impressive.

lets not be to harsh

Come now, lets not be harsh, slap a Type-R Acura sticker on it and a rear spoiler to keep the front wheel drive working less, 20 lbs of vinyl decals, and 60 in neon and you get atleast 340 imaginary-horses at the rear wheels of that front wheel drive mitsu... I used to like honda, mitsubishi and all them, then I drove a camaro... instantly converted.

Where do you get off thinking eclps0 said anything about racing the camaro? He was just wondering if that guy was bullshitting him or not. Christ no reason to jump on him like that.
