I tried an alpha version a long ago, in my opinion it will be a resident evil styled game except with realtime graphics that are superior. It's not that revolutionary, but for real time stuff sure I guess, but, there are many companies out there today, it's alot more competitive but with ID's reputation and Carmack, ya it'll be something.
When games have full HDRI+Radiosity outdoor lightning and other advance raytracing techniques in real time.. games will be truly realistic

Hardware specs will probably be ridiculous. As with any new hyped up big action game, any computer not on the cutting edge of video rendering technology is screwed.
welp, time to get a GeForce 17 i guess! woohoo!

Bah, if you built a computer two months ago you can play Doom 3. I know that my two nicer computers will be able to play it and they are a lot older than two months. Sure it won't looks as pretty as a system with a GeForce FX or Radeon 9800 but it will play it just fine.
I'll try the demo before I buy it. Quake has left a bad taste in my mouth for ID software. It was never a good replacement for the Doom series.

P4 1.8ghz 512 DDR RAM GeForce2 64mb Will be able to play? Maybe time to upgrade graphics card?
