2001 GP Struts

Hello all. I am getting ready to put new struts on my 2001 Grand Prix GT. just wanted to get some idea as to what the best struts are. Should I stick with AC Delco, or go with something else?

Re: 2001 GP Struts

No monroe quick struts or I also heard bad things about gabrial (if they are still around).

I put brand new delco's in the front of my car and about a month later they were making a scraping sound. I went through 3 sets of strut load bearings thinking they were the issue. When I finally replaces the strut itself, the problem went away. So delco's quality is questionable lately as I think a lot of their parts are out sourced.

Many GP owners use KYB brand struts. I have never used them, but I havn't heard any complaints either.

Re: 2001 GP Struts

Thanks tblake. I was also considering using the KYB brand AGX series adjustable struts.. I might go ahead with that, going by your experience with the Delco struts.. Anyone else out there use KYB brand struts?

Re: 2001 GP Struts

Tim, did you go with AC-Delco aftermarket struts (part number 503-322) or the oem (part number 506-266) ? The 503- series Delcos are just reboxed Gabriel units. The 506- series are OEM, and of much better quality.

I do agree that KYB's are a nice unit, and I haven't heard any complaints about them either.

Re: 2001 GP Struts

I am not sure Rich. The bill at the dealer came to right around 300.00 for both of them.
