2.5 litre engine problem
would somebody please help in identifying why a 2.5 litre engine (chrysler) cuts out for only a second on and off at speeds of over 60 kilometers an hour. The car has only 60,000 miles and distributor and rotor have been replaced and wires to plugs replaced, but the problem still persists. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks Mel.

Possible that the fuel pump is shutting off or performing under par momentarily. See if there are any trouble codes logged in the computer. Given the age of the car, '89, there was a low fuel pressure problem. I believe the 89 model was the lower fuel pressure to the fuel injector. Chrysler later (I believe 1991) upped the fuel pressure to the injector. You can email me with more information if you wish as I don't usually view this forum.

1989 reliant k car
Thank you for your reply. I took all the wires out of the distributor and coil and made sure they were in properly, and I added fuel injector cleaner to the tank and it seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for all your help. Mel.
