Question Tamiya Colours

Anyone done a model in either Tamiya Candy Apple Blue or Candy Apple Red? I need to decide one for the Cadillac I'm building. Also does anyone have a link to the Tamiya colour charts? I can't find them, but I know someone posted them up ages ago. Any help much appreciated!!!

i sell the paints in my shop and we don't have any candy in Tamita paints at all but spraying the clear red over gold or silver would bring up a cool colour

Tamiya Color Charts

To my knowledge, Tamiya doesn't make colors called 'candy apple red' and 'candy apple blue'
You could do what Phase5 said though, that would work well to create a candy coat effect.

Thanks for that colour chart! That ZX looks great, but if I had some proper chrome spray I wouldn't put another colour on top, so I couldn't do the blue/chrome.

I'm 100% sure that Tamiya makes candy coloured sprays, this 64 impala is in candy lime green. Maybe the candys are Asia Pacific only? I bought this colour from my hobby shop and just 2 weeks ago i saw candy blue and red.

Tamiya made the TS-52 Candy Lime Green for the Kawasaki ZX-12R Ninja bike. For reds they offer Italian Red, Bright Red, Metallica Red, Mica Red, and Fluoroscent Red (for race cars). The Fluoroscent red is the closest to candy I would say but it's, well, fluoroscent and almost pink in its loudness

For blues they offer Mica Blue, Blue, French Blue, Light Metallic Blue, Dark Metallic Blue, Telefonica Blue, and probably some others, but no Candy Blues

Do you have a paint code for these other colors you say Tamiya makes?

I know that Testors makes candy coat colors.....as does Pactra, but I have yet to see any other candy color from Tamiya.

BTW, maybe you are thinking of the new pearl blue and pearl red Tamiya makes?

Testors Candy Apple Red:

I'm 100% sure I saw Candy Blue and Candy Red at my shop, I don't have the codes because I just clanced up and saw them and thought "cool, more candy colours". I'll be making an order so I can get my spray paint soon, sometime this week. So I will see then. Pearl blue or Candy Blue, both look sweet and either will go nice on the Caddy.

It's probably Light Pearl Blue and Light Pearl Red (which is almost pink)
