Volkswagen T2a Panel Van | Ocean Surf Shop

Hello fellow modelers,

this little van was build utilizing resin testshot parts from ScaleProduction. Initially intended to be on display in Jabbeke earlier this year, and with only a few days left, it was only mocked up then. There wasn't even time to spray some clearcoat. Anyway, most people seemed to like it with the flat two-tone paintjob and decals. After the show I disassembled it and touched up some transport damage. After clearcoating it I finally assembled it for the last time, replacing the bulky stock rear bumper with a unit from the Ford Escort Mk2. I extended the mountings and added a step, made from mahagony wood.

Before Jabbeke...

... in Jabbeke...

... and finally finished

More pictures in my photobucket album.

Thanks for watching, C&C appreciated.

Wonderful work man!

I love your dioramas too, a few questions if you don't mind?

1. Were the wheels already chromed or did you do that? (Alcalad?)
2. I want to start building my own diorama but I'm having a hard time simulating the road/asphalt/tarmac ... yours seems pretty realistic, is it a specific grade of sandpaper or is it fabric?

I'm really keen on the van that comes with the surfboard, just haven't got round to purchasing it yet, are these relatively simple to build or quite complex?

Keep up the great work!

@TurboGuru:

1. the wheels are original, I didn't do anything to them
2. the tarmac is a self-adhesive fabric material used by railroad modelers (forgot the brand, though)

@FerrariTR:

>> it's a testshot of the 24h Volkswagen Scirocco

Thanks for the replies

The decal on the side of the van is awesome! Did you make it yourself or buy it somewhere?

Homemade by a friend of mine, using his ALPS printer.
