Interior lights dead after switch and visor change

I just recieved a new master window switch and I also recieved my new sunvisors and just put them in the other day. The master switch works great, but now all of my interior lights won't turn on (dome/sidelights/sunvisor lights) even when I use the master light switch. All the dash lights work as normal just not the interior lights. What's wrong?

Both parts came from a 2000 GTP (all the same connections).

What car do you have? What model and year is it also? It is hard to try to guess where to start, but I would do a fuse check in the all fuse boxes to check for blown fuses.

1997 GTP

I checked the fuse and it was blown so I replaced it, but then it blew again. Something interesting to note is that I then replaced it with a 15A fuse instead of the 10a and it didnt spark/blow, however only the glove box slight would work when I did that but no other lights.

I am not sure what to do next. I wonder if it is a BCM problem, but I am not sure.

Did you get new replacement parts or used one?

Are your visors lighted? If so, try unplugging them and replace the fuse and check the operation of the interior lights.

Then either unplug or swap back your master window switch.

Something has to be shorting out somewhere.

Yeah I took off the driver's side visor and saw that the wires were pierced. I also check the passenger side which was in working order. The lights work now. I even discovered a KISS cd tucked in the passenger side visor from the previous owner

Re: Interior lights dead after switch and visor change

I wanna rock and roll all night!!!

Kiss? HaHa yeah! Too pad it wasn't ac/dc, or def lep, or lynyrd.... But Kiss is better than Green Day!

Reminds me of a time I bought a cd player off ebay when I was in HS. He just shipped the deck, no mounts, trim, or wireing harness. SO thats why I got it so cheap. Either way, when I hooked it up and hit eject, some really ghetto DMX CD came out. I was like SCORE! Even though its absolutly terrible music.
