Toyota TE-27 Levin

Every year there is an 24 hour build event in my country and I really enjoying this event.

Every kind of modelling is all, but most of them are car builders though. You don't have to complete your build within 24 hour, but I like to build something ''quick''. This year I'll bring my WRX with me and I'll start a new project. I had to find a simple kit, which contains just a few parts. I think this Fujimi Toyota TE-27 Levin would be a nice one.

Huge amount of parts as you can see

And the kit should be curb-side, but I found an very nice detailded Toyota 1600 engine in the kit

The body is very nicely molded. Some minor moldlines are vissible, but easy to sand away.

Even with the stock steelies this car looks cool!
But I'll put some Aoshima oldskool wheels with stretch tyres on this car.

I also found a nice color for this one. Dark Olive Metallic by Porsche

And in reallife it looks like this:

For the interior i'm planning to paint it tan with black.

Kris.

Re: Toyota TE-27 Levin

The mold colour already looks cool!

I agree with you, old school aoshimas over the steel wheels anyday!

Re: Toyota TE-27 Levin

After some painting problems (zero Paints white primer.....) I had to put it in IsoPropyl Alcohol.

When the paints was removed, I primered the body again, but this time with grey primer (never had any problems with this....).

Today I added some layers of paint on it.

I also masked of the wheels with liquid masking from Microscale. The heart of the wheels are painted Alclad 2 Titanium Silver.

Today I clearcoated the body with Zero 2K Clear.

When this is dry i'll polish the paint for more shine!

Re: Toyota TE-27 Levin

First I polished the body. After that I masked of the body and paint the windowtrims on the doors and rearwindow.

It's hard to see but the shine is great, but due the bad light I couldn't made any nice pics.

I also started on the interior. First I primed everything, and then painted it with tamiya xf-khaki brown. The midconsole was painted semigloss, and so will the dash be.

I also added some dark grey interiorflocking.

Re: Toyota TE-27 Levin

Uch uch uch.... just removed the layer of dust on this topic

Did some work on this one last days.

First I finished the dashboard. Painted it flat black and added some parts and decals on it.

And finished the interior. Maybe there will be added some accesoires cause it's a bit boring now...

With some aluminium tubing I made a new suspension to fit the new wide wheels.
The chassis was also painted flat black with some metallic flakes. And after that I painted the exhaust and wheatered everything a bit.

With some brass wire I placed the chrome bumpers.

And I made some dryfit photos:
